Asians are passive aggressive. We also secretly think we are better than everyone else. We are taught to be humble and serve others, at the same time, we are (subconciously perhaps) taught to do better, be better than anyone else. Hence the pressure to be perfect.
I gave up perfection when I learned to laugh at myself and look at my mistakes as lessons and gained experiences.
Humbleness.
verse 7 "but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant..."
Servitude.
When was the last time I helped someone just because they needed my help? The last time I volunteered for something without having to add that to my resume?
Verse 3: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves."
I'm rereading my post and all I am reading is I.
Clearly humbleness is something I need to learn.
